Tempura

Today’s topic is also Japanese food, Tempura. Actually, the recipe for tempura was introduced to Japan by Portuguese during the sixteenth century. Tempura is a typical Japanese home cooked dish and it is a vegetables and seafood dipped in batter and deep fried. And the batter is made from flour and eggs. I think shrimp Tempura is the most popular in ingredients of Tempura. My favorite Tempura are shrimp, mixture of vegetables and eggplant. When we eat Tempura, we use some condiments, such as salt, soy sauce, or sauce for Tempura. I have never tried but some people use ketchup. Tempura is also used in combination with other foods. When Tempura served in soba, it is called Tempura soba or tensoba. Tempura is also served on rice in a bowl, it is called tendon. If time passes, Tempura is not crispy so eat it while it is hot!

I know nothing about their background, all i know is that it tastes good ans what its called sadly. I love tempura and shrimp tempura is my favorite of all! I was not a aware that it was introduced to Japan by the Portugese. I just assumed that because it was Japanese food that it originated from there. I can't wait to read all your post!
