Sukiyaki
Today’s topic is also Japanese food, Sukiyaki. It is one of the hot pot cooking and a salty-sweet flavor. I usually eat Sukiyaki in winter at my home not at a restaurant. The main ingredient is thin sliced beef, and it is simmered in a pot with lots of vegetables and sukiyaki sauce, which is mainly made from soy sauce, sugar, and Japanese sake. Most people like to dip cooked beef and vegetables in a beaten egg right before eating. Some people add Udon or rice to the pot after they eat most of Sukiyaki. In Hawaii, most people do not eat raw eggs, so some people feel it is weird but it is very popular in Japan. Japanese people eat a row egg on rice, which called Tamagokake-Gohan. It is usually eaten at morning and very simple, just sprinkle some drops of soy sauce on Tamagokake-Gohan and mix it. In Japan, raw eggs are very fresh and safe so if you go to Japan, please try Sukiyaki with a beaten egg.

Every one of my friends has different ingredient and sukiyaki sauce when he or she makes Sukiyaki. Some people will use pork and chicken or add some tofu. The differences of the sauce are sake proportion, also I saw a person add hot pepper. Therefore, I think that Sukiyaki have no fixed formula about ingredients and sauce.
